ulster folk and transport museum

This distinct open air museum, allows the visitor to step back in time and gain first hand experience of what life was like in early 20th century Ulster.

The Folk museum, set in over 170 acres of countryside, displays numerous landed houses, cottages, schools, churches, shops and other such buildings that have been acquired by the museum. Bringing the stories to life, tour guides are dressed in traditional clothes and show how traditional food such as soda is made. The Folk Galleries trace how everyday food; farming, occupations and lifestyles have changed over time.

The Transport Museum displays Ireland's most extensive transport collection. It shows traditional horse drawn carts, steam trains as well as the first Irish built motorcars as well as those built abroad. The history of ship and aircraft building can also be discovered. The 'Titanic' exhibition and X2 Flight Experience are amongst permanent exhibitions of international acclaim.
