Located on Donegall Square, the civic building stands a centrepiece of the capital city. Dating back to 1906, it boasts classical renaissance style architecture built from Portland stone and hosts' spectacular gardens, a rare luxury in a bustling city centre.

The exterior features four distinct towers with lantern brass domes on each, a classic Victorian feature. The interior has a grandeur décor with features including, The Porte-Cochère and Grand Entrance, The Grand Staircase, The Great Hall and Reception Room. The acre and half grounds are enjoyed by many as a place of relaxation but also hosts a number of statues including Queen Victoria, 'Thane' in rememberance of Titanic, A War Memorial Garden and Cenotaph and it will soon be the home a George Best Memorial statue.

It is closed at weekends, except for public tours on Saturdays.
